Reelect a judge with integrity, compassion, and fairness.
Support a judge who believes that healthy communities are safer communities.
As founder of Cuyahoga County’s first felony drug court in 2008, Matia continues to put the community first. Over 1,000 lives have been improved by drug court.
Why Contribute?
Campaigns are expensive
Even unopposed candidates have to contribute thousands of dollars to their party’s reelection efforts. Additionally, judges are only allowed to solicit funds once every six years during their election cycles.
Support for an award-winning judge
Matia received the President’s Award from the Ohio Common Pleas Judges Association in 2018 and was voted Jurist of the Year in 2021 by the Ohio Association for Justice. His work has gained the recognition of his peers and the lawyers who appear before him.
Vote for commitment
Drug Court is a second full-time job. Judge Matia has been running a drug court since 2008. The only compensation a judge receives from running a specialized docket is knowing that they are changing futures. It is a lot of extra work.
“It is a privilege to be a judge. Fewer things are more fulfilling than helping turn the lives around of those with substance use disorder. It’s great to see the faces of their loved ones at our Drug Court graduation ceremonies. The glowing smiles and tears of joy, let you know that you have altered someone’s future for the better.”
